Charles Edward Overby (1880-1945)

Charles Edward Overby was born in Fairfield, Illinois January 14, 1880. During his life he was recognized as a musician and artist with considerable talent. He organized and directed several bands and orchestras, taught musical instruments and did considerable pen and ink drawings as an avocation. In addition, he was a barber. He married Cynthia Ann Hooper June 19, 1900. They had three daughters. Unfortunately, Cynthia died after giving birth to their third daughter, on April 12, 1907. Around 1915, Edward moved his family to Van Buren, Arkansas, where he made his home for some 30 years until his death November 8, 1945.
